About me

Starting from Fall 2017, I am a Ph.D. student at School of ECE, Georgia Tech. I'm very fortunate to be advised by Prof. Gee-Kung Chang.

Prior to Georgia Tech, I received B.S. in Electrical engineering and B.A. in Economics from Peking University in 2017, where I was fortunate to work with Prof. Zhiping(James) Zhou. In summer 2016, I worked with Prof. S.J.Ben Yoo at UC Davis.

In 2018 and 2019, I spent wonderful summers as a research intern with Dr. Winston Way at Neophotonics.

In summer 2020, I am happy to work on the next-generation flexible Passive Optical Network with Noriaki Kaneda, Yannick Lefevre, Amitkumar Mahadevan, Dora Van Vee, and Vincent Houtsma in Nokia Bell Labs.

Research

My research interests are broadly in coherent optical communication systems, high-performance digital signal processing techniques for 5G and beyond, free space optical transmission, millimeter wave transmission, and passive optical networks. Currently, I'm particularly interested in the following topics:

  • Laser Phase noise characterization and DSP techniques in coherent systems.

  • Probabilistic shaping based system optimization.

  • High-performance millimeter wave and free space optics communication.
